I work on both Linux and WinNT, too. Some of us could help
ourselves on this kind of problem if we had the equivalent of the
UNIX expand and unexpand commands for WinNT. Does anyone know
where we can find ports of these tools for WinNT or can find
similar tools? I'm hoping that my shop will soon be using Python
more extensively, and it would be nice if I could make this kind of
tool available to our people. They are WinNT people, but even they
can be trained to use a command line.
